Loose Ends

reviewstar-08reviewstar-08reviewstar-08reviewstar-08reviewstar-08

This was my first read by Taylor and it was really good!

Ava Greenwood is running from her life.  Leaving Chi-town is the only way to survive.  Getting as far away as possible isn’t any option and hopefully Mississippi is far enough.  A new identity, a new look (because that is what she does) and a lot of hope and prayers that her past doesn’t catch up to her present keeps her going. With her friend Brandi now at her side, a little fixer upper house she is settling in and getting comfortable. Can this really be it … is she really finally safe?

Luke Daughtry has been sent to eliminate his target.  Needless to say, he didn’t know how beautiful his target was and is.  Walking into the salon was too easy and finding the stunning woman standing before him … even easier. She is sassy, strong, brave and everything he thought she wouldn’t be.  He has to get closer to her.  He knows he has a job to do … but doing it may just break him.  Surely what Ava is hiding can’t be worth her life … or can it?

This was a really good read.  The ups and downs, the drama and more than a few times of holding your breath saying no no no will keep those pages turning.  You will be pulling for Ava and Luke to find what they need and especially what each needs to know.  Can they survive this? I don’t know … !!! — I certainly hope somehow we get more from these two characters!

I am really excited for you all to click this one up!  Thank you Taylor for the ARC and for giving me another great artist to look forward to reading more of.

You are kept guessing all through this book.  You know there are many secrets and lies but it takes oil near the end before everything becomes clear. I read the action parts with adrenaline pumping through my system, with the sad parts breaking my heart. I’m so glad there wasn’t a cliffhanger I’m not sure I could’ve handled that.  Ava and Luke burned up the pages during the sex scenes.  There was no doubting their chemistry.  When Cole shows up the tension gets kicked up a notch, I can only hope this is a series and he will be the next focus.  And Brandi, she was a great supporting character that I wouldn’t mind hearing more about.  Overall a great book with action and plenty of heat.  One favorite quote, “His mouth was pure magic wrapped in sin.”

Split Ends

I love this series…its like Pringles, once you start you won’t be able to stop!!

This is my favorite in this series so far #TEAMCOLE!!! This series has it all, HOT FBI agents, damsels in distress(but can kick ass too) and hard earned “Happily Ever Afters.” What I think I love the most, is you get a taste of the author’s personality and humor in her books. In book 1 you watch Luke and Ava fall in love, and the thorn in their side/best friend Cole played his love them and leave them. Little did he know his past was about to come back like Karma with PMS, well at least at first. Gracie needs to see Cole, to finish up something that was started when they were in school together. Lies told have a tendency to grow. Now Cole has to put his training to a test, but for as good as he thinks he is…He is about to have a wake up call he never saw coming!!

The heat between Cole and Gracie is insanely awesome, especially after being estranged for years.

What can I say about this book without giving spoilers away? Mind blowing! You meet Cole in Loose Ends and never once guess he has a hidden past. The heat between Cole and Gracie is insanely awesome, especially after being estranged for years. Its like they are making up for lost years. The book seriously kept me on the edge of my seat reading. I had to know what was going to happen next.

Our Second Chance

reviewstar-08reviewstar-08reviewstar-08reviewstar-08

“I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.

Our Second Chance is the first novel in The Chances Are series. It follows the lives of Emily and Jake, two individuals who were secretly in love with each other in college, but never admitted their feelings. When Emily leaves the life she was expected to have, one dictated by her parents, and strikes out on her own, who does she run into, but Jake.

I loved the chemistry between these two. Now, it’s branded as erotica, but really, it’s steamy romance. I read this book in a couple of sittings, which is the mark of a book that captures the reader.

I took a single star away because I wanted a little more behind Emily’s life as a survivor of abuse. This is a major component of Emily’s psyche, and I think that the author could have delved into it a bit more for a truly stunning impact. That said, it’s a quick, engaging read that will leave you turning the page time and time again.”

“Get ready to read a steamy adventure full of obstacles and romance. Our Second Chance, the first in a three part series, follows Emily, a woman who just knows she has the potential to do more with her life but can’t quite figure out how to get there. A very down-to-earth character that will have you rooting for her the entire time, Emily confronts the what if’s of past scenarios and the future of what she wants to experience. This isn’t just an erotica with a substandard plot, this is something more that will have you encouraging Emily to burst out of her comfort zone and try to achieve more. The romance is steamy, the sex is hot, and the characters feel like actual people–not pawns in a chess board to move around so the sex flows.

This is something you’re going to want to check out, and it has the added benefit of being a longer erotica so it will have you reading plenty and searching out the second one when you’re done.

Shortly I’ll have a review of the second in the series, but for now definitely go check this one out.”

Left to Chance

reviewstar-08reviewstar-08reviewstar-08reviewstar-08reviewstar-08

“The second in The Chances Are series, Left to Chance takes place in that sinfully delightful corner of the world known as Vegas. The old adage is, What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, but is that ever true? Following characters from the first book, Left to Chance lets the reader take a look at the lives of Eliza and Jake, a dominant male with a no-bullshit kind of woman. These characters are thrown together seemingly by chance when they wake up the next day wondering “what the hell happened?” and a glaring sparkly stone on Eliza’s finger. Although it has a comical premise, this book is not as fluffy as it sounds. The sex is a tug-o-war balance between the dominant personalities of each character, filled with steamy romantic plots, hot sex, and has the potential to give you emotional whiplash when you’re done reading.”

I’m really glad we get to see Eliza and Gabe’s story – with all the hints that were dropped in the first book about their ensuing romance – this is what I’ve been hanging to read.

If you think you are going to get a plain sailing love story – no – you will not find that in this book. CD Taylor has a knack of writing emotionally bankrupt characters. Their emotions are so over the top, so infuriating but they manage to suck me in. I love that they pretty much hate each other. The distain is dripping of the page with their barb filled commentary. Many of them had me snickering along, especially the secret revealing moments at the bar.

I much preferred this book to the first one for so many reasons. The writing seems a lot freer and the content flows a lot better. This book swept me off into the world of where love can blossom if you are strong enough to let your heart go. Couldn’t help having Katy Perry’s Waking up in Vegas running through my head while I was reading this. LOL.

Gabe is a very patient man. He tolerates her incessant judgements and pretty bad behaviour but it’s only because she’s emotionally immature. Her choices might not have been the best, but now she has to pretty much reap what she’s sown. Gabe is great – he doesn’t let her get away with much.

I normally have an issue with a virgin sex minx story line but this one was really enjoyable. The sex scenes are hot and might be confronting for some readers. Fans of light BDSM will like this story. This is a good story – what would have made it a great story – would have been to have it in alternating point of views.
There are plenty of twists and turns within this story that will keep you going and going ‘ohhhhh’ like I did.

I was kindly provided with a free copy of this book from the author to provide an honest review. Receiving this book for free did not influence my opinion nor review.

A Fighting Chance

** Author provided a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest review. **

“I rarely read a book in a series without having read the prior releases (personal quirk) but I found that I really enjoyed this story. It is the third in a series but is a wonderful stand-alone novel. There was a thrilling back-story to both characters and I was glad to see that the female was a strong lead. Yes, the attraction between the two main characters was immediately hot and steamy and a main point but the threading of family values, personal integrity, and friendship was nicely integrated. I look forward to reading the first two in “The Chances Are” series.”

Saving London

reviewstar-08reviewstar-08reviewstar-08reviewstar-08

We meet a girl who’s facing her death, in fact, she only has a year to live. To make the most of this year, she is set to complete her bucket list. A chance meeting with a man named Adam made this wish list into a reality.

I thought this book was going to be all about death but it’s so not. It’s all about life and living to the fullest and making every day count. It’s about pursuing your dreams, no matter how far-fetched they seem to be. But what I didn’t expect was the paranormal element. By adding this, the author has created a great twist.I really enjoyed the author’s style of writing, reading about London’s fears, her excitement, her worries and her passions was very invigorating.

This is the first of this author’s work that I’ve read and I really enjoyed it. I didn’t expect the ending and I love when an author is able to mess with my predictions, LOL.

I was given a free copy of this book for my honest opinion.

“Intriguing, humorous and thought-provoking. These three words sum up the book Saving London. From the moment I read the back cover to the end of the book, I was intrigued. I kept coming back for more. The plot moved along nicely and was well written. The imagery was magnificent. I sat and chuckled my way through most of the book. “Waking up each morning had a new meaning now. I wasn’t sure of the exact meaning, but I knew there was one there hiding in the shadows.” This is typical of the wording, humor, and character development in the book. Taylor does an excellent job of weaving the story line and keeping you wondering about the outcome and who the characters really are. She brings in theological questions in a harmless way as London wrestles with her own mortality. The reader sympathizes with London and wants to see her accomplish her list. I will gladly reread this book and recommend it to anyone. It is well worth the read.”
